About Me

My photo
Murrieta, CA, United States
Hi! Welcome to my blog. I am a mixed media artist who lives in Murrieta, California. I work in acrylics, watercolor, pastel, charcoal and other water and drawing media. My main subjects are abstracts, abstract landscapes, florals and gardens, equine abstracts and dog portraits. I love to use color! I try to incorporate the three C's in all of my work - color, contrast and composition! Most of these paintings are for sale. Please check with me for availability and prices if not posted. San Diego Lagoon, abstract landscape by Carol Engles

10 x 14 watercolor and pastel on paper. This piece has no lines! Yes! Every now and then, I do a painting without line. This is supposed to convey a soft mood and lines some times detract from that intent.  I do a watercolor wash underneath and then add the pastel. I add the colors in the center for contrast and interest, and because it is an abstract I can do whatever I want! HA!
STAY TUNED...
I just finished some more "finger paintings" that I will post soon. I need to photo them but we're having a rain storm today.
