January Field One

5x7 mixed media on paper. I usually use bright colors - this is more subdued to reflect a winter day.  The bright lavender and pink pastels are able to offer a nice highlight along with the yellow green. I think that they add a lot to this piece. I am trying to use more dark grey and black and then build up interest with these brighter highlights. I also added aqua in the sky for a bit of surprise color.
