Rocky Creek, oil pastel painting by Carol Engles


 10 x 14 oil pastel on paper. I plan on doing some more oil pastels this summer. This one is fun I think. Lots of color in a loose style. Oil pastels are very different from soft pastels and though many artist enjoy blending them, I prefer to use them in this way with less blending. Hope you like this piece. This is a really energetic and beautiful piece. Your use of purple (and your choice of purple) are both great. Love it. Any plans on drawing bigger [sheepish grin]?
