Scribbly Flowers and Fields, One, abstract painting by Carol Engles

17 x 23 mixed media on paper. Lots of layers and lines in this piece. So much fun to do!  Scribbling is actually harder to do than you think! You have to some order to it, in my opinion, to hold it all together. Tell me what you think.

It looks like the scribbling technique must take a lot of time and patience. I like the way you get so many layers and so much interest going on in it.

Hi Theresa! I am glad you like this! I could do these all the time - but they are a bit crazy for some! They don't take that much time really. The hard part is to make sure that I keep some element of design and keep enough contrast so it doesn't become too messy and busy.
