About Me

Murrieta, CA, United States
Hi! Welcome to my blog. I am a mixed media artist who lives in Murrieta, California. I work in acrylics, watercolor, pastel, charcoal and other water and drawing media. My main subjects are abstracts, abstract landscapes, florals and gardens, equine abstracts and pet portraits. I love to use color! I try to incorporate the three C's in all of my work - color, contrast and composition! Most of these paintings are for sale. Please check with me for availability and prices if not posted. Scribbly Field One

10 x 14 acrylic with oil pastel on paper. I am having so much fun doing these. But, I just ran out of some oil pastels and almost panicked! I need to stock up. I usually work with soft pastels. But, years ago now,   after a busy day in advertising, I would grab my box of oil pastels and relax doing landscapes. I have no idea why I chose oil pastels. I had never worked with them in any of my classes. My next door neighbor loved them and bought several and the rest is history as they say! At that time, I blended them more and worked in a more impressionistic style. Now, I am enjoying them in this "scribbly" style. They are not easy to work with though. You have to be careful when you layer them not to make the painting "muddied". They do not layer as easily as soft pastels. I hope you like this piece. I am in "the mood" to do several more!

Happy Thanksgiving!
