I have been so busy this week doing word processing for my husband! I finally got back to my work! Ha! I am always impressed with people who can perform administrative and secretarial work at lightning speed! I am definitely NOT in that category! So, here's a piece with primarily 2 complimentary colors - blue and yellow-orange. I added mint green to bring some contrast to the work. Hope you like it!!
Affordable colorful abstracts, landscapes and equine art. Commissioned pet portraits. Pastel, watercolor, charcoal and acrylic. Contact me at: carol.engles@gmail.com or text me at: (951) 704-2440 Art Copyright 2008-2025

Daily Painting - Light Green Bluff
This 5x7 piece is a "companion" to "Deep Blue Bay" I think. I just get lost in the these blues and greens. They seem so calm and relaxing to me. Maybe because we've been having a heat wave in Southern California, I find myself drawn to these colors! This piece comes matted, as are all the 5x7's. You could easily drop them into a ready made frame if you like.

Daily Painting -Grey, Aqua & Purple
Hi! This picture features colors in combination that I don't usually use. Purple seems to work well with grey. I have been challenging myself to use grey in my work occasionally. This has a subtle and understated feel. I think it is important to try different colors and see what happens. Let me know what you think!

Daily Painting - Peachscape
This 5x7 piece is another abstract landscape with squares and boxes representing fields. I enjoy doing these. The combination of blue, green, peach and brown are traditional landscape colors. By adding blue in the foreground, it gives the painting more of an abstract feel. This one compliments a painting I did last week, "Coral Horizon" - check it out.

Daily Painting - Small Grey Field Two
Here's another grey and yellow painting with accents of lavender and aqua. I'm enjoying using more charcoal. This piece has stronger lines in the foreground than the previous grey and yellow one. The other has a softer, smudged look. This is what I like about pastels - you can use them very softly or with lines and edge. 5x7.

Our Dog "Monty"
This is our Yorkie, "Monty", I did this drawing of him a couple years ago with color pencils. I do drawings of dogs every now and then. He recovered this year from knee surgery and is doing well. I thought you might like to see him! He's quite a character - very demanding! We call him "The General!" We have two other terriers and a Standard Poodle, so our house is a lively place!

Daily Painting - Small Grey Field
Hey! I did a 5x7 piece with grey and black! I have been exploring different color combinations. I usually don't work with grey, so this is a big deal! I also posted two new abstracts on my website that feature grey and purple - I did them as a pair! Take a look. I also used more charcoal on this and that was fun.
