Sunflowers in Blue and Tan Vase

This painting has a summer feel, don't you think? I tried to get a lot of depth in this as well as a lot of color. This is a watercolor with pastels and oil pastels. This piece is 16x20 and is on watercolor paper.

Breezy Afternoon

This is an abstract landscape done with acrylics on paper. I want to see what I can do with this medium. I like the brightness of acrylics. At this point, it seems that they are best done by themselves. Pastels don't seem to adhere to them as well as to watercolor. Tell me what you think!  SOLD

Yellow & Aqua One

I did this piece with acrylics only on paper. I usually use a mixed media approach, but it's good for me to work with one material. It allows me to concentrate on composition and color only and practice my brush strokes. This has a bright feel, don't you think! SOLD

Blue Blocks

This  8x10 piece  named "Blue Blocks" has lots of blue blocks! I especially like the blue area contrasted with the bronze or orange in the upper right corner. Orange is a hard color to work with sometimes. It can be overpowering; bronze however, is richer and easier to view. Tell me what you think!

Southwest Hills

This landscape is a 10x14. I did this one with watercolor and ink. I may start using more colored inks as well. I create these out of my head and try to present a sense of texture and distance. They are fun to do. Some of them have a Southwestern feel, while others have a more green or lush feel.

Daily Painting - Bronze Sky One

This piece is bronze, too! I am having fun with this color. I am going to order some iridescent pastels and try them also to achieve this look. Let me know what you think!

Windy Irises

Here's a garden painting to show you! This one has oil pastel as well as pastel and watercolor. This is a 16x21 piece. I like to do art that has a lot of energy.

Bronze Flowers

This is a 16x21  watercolor and pastel. Wild colors, huh? I was trying to get a bronze color to it. Not the usual flower color. I used purple, orange and brown to get the effect.
